We offer potential and existing customers test extractions of their selected raw materials and provide advice on material pre-treatment, suitability for SCE extraction, and an initial rough estimate of extraction parameters. This service will help you determine the feasibility and performance of SCE for your raw materials in preparation for more comprehensive studies and/or industrial production. Please note that this service does not include laboratory analysis of chemical composition, antioxidant activity, total phenolic content, or other chemical analyses.
Our analytical laboratory is equipped with modern gas and liquid chromatographs used to determine the chemical composition of samples. We can analyze SCE extracts and other samples, identifying and determining the content of thousands of biologically active or other valuable chemical components. Our team includes scientists and other experts in the field of organic and analytical chemistry. We will prepare a professional report on the work performed, advise clients on the presence of valuable components and design processes to enhance the valuable properties of your products. Some examples of our chromatographic and physicochemical analyses can be found here.
We will design and optimize a supercritical or other extraction process for any suitable raw material, combining the power of our extraction equipment and analytical laboratory. Using the Design of Experiments (DOE) approach, we first perform a series of 20 or more extractions, systematically varying the extraction parameters. The yield and chemical composition of the resulting extracts are determined. A statistical optimization procedure then yields one or more sets of optimal extraction parameters, depending on your objectives. These may include maximizing the yield of the extract, the concentration of a particular valuable chemical component, and/or separating different chemical classes through fractionation. This option is a valuable tool for our customers, significantly accelerating process development and the transition to industrial production.
